1. Change Your Diet

Many people do not like to admit it, but diet plays a huge role in pain. There might be certain foods that you eat that make the pain worse or better. This is why it is important to keep track of what you eat and if you experience pain. For example, some people choose to keep a food journal. This is where you write down everything that you eat and then if you feel pain. You should write down how long after eating certain foods you started experiencing the pain and how long it lasted. The food journal will help you to chart how food affects you and your pain.

Once you have discovered what foods, if any, are contributing to your pain, you should work to eliminate them. You might need to talk to an nutritionist to make sure that you are getting all the vitamins and minerals that you need, especially if you have to eliminate an entire food group like wheat or dairy.

2.  Exercise

For many people this seems impossible when they are in constant pain. They might feel like because they are in pain the last thing they want to do is lift weights, walk, or exercise. However, exercise may be one of the best things you can do to rid yourself of the pain. But if you can strengthen your body, you’re less likely to experience the pain in the first place. For example, if your joints hurt, helping to strengthen the body will help to lessen pressure on the joints.

Before you start an exercise program, it is important to talk to your doctor. They will let you know what kinds of exercise you can start with. Usually yoga and walking are safe options, but you might be able to start more intense forms of exercise with a doctor’s permission.

If after trying a different diet and exercise you are still experiencing pain, talk to your doctor. They can refer you to specialist and test for different conditions.
